Transferring Colleges
I have 2 months left until I officially finish the second year of my degree in Software Engineering, but I'm finally starting to see how I work and what's not working.
At my current uni, we have a pass/fail system, and classes are completed through either proctored exams or graded performance assessments. There aren't any weekly assignments or deadlines; everything is asynchronous and self-paced. I struggle with procrastination and pacing, and will spend weeks doing basically nothing each class, then freak out as it gets closer to the end of the semester and somehow clutch up.
I feel like I would benefit from a brick-and-mortar style program with set deadlines and the like. At the end of last semester, I was considering transferring to an in-person university, but decided it wouldn't work with my circumstances. Since then, I've found another online university that offers what I've been considering. My current dilemma with the new uni is that I could either be about the same amount a year (8.5k) or up to 2-3k extra a year to switch tho I'm not exactly sure. If I transfer my credits, it will be a bit cheaper overall, but I'm also wondering if it's worth the possible extra 2-3k a year vs my current uni. Do I tough it out and keep going or withdraw at the end of the semester then spend a month or so getting ready for this new uni?
